Adfam is a national charity dedicated to helping families that suffer from drug and alcohol abuse issues. Be part of a loving and supportive family to enjoy physical and mental wellbeing because we want everyone affected by someone else's drug or alcohol use to have the chance to benefit from these healthy relationships.
Drug and alcohol usage encourages physical, emotional and financial imbalances which can destroy family relationships.
We allow members of the family and close friends to help our personnel and influence decision-makers to make the right choices to prevent this from happening.
Our Core Values
We listen to families and workers in order to help As we know that individuals have answers if they have face or confront challenges. Our supporters informed what we do: We support and empower both people affected by substance misuse and the workers who support them with the evidence and compassion with us. For individuals we assemble skills, assets, confidence and pathways to help them themselves, their companions, customers, and communities.
We're Driven By What Works
Substance abuse has a diverse and intense effect on family relations and happiness. We focus on things that give results in reality and we do our work seriously and carefully. To achieve this, we never underestimate the value of real-life experience as well as formal research evidence and we also embrace evidence in all diversity. Our work is driven by our supporters, colleagues, friends and what they see.
We're Serious About Our Mission
We are dedicated to providing the work of the best standard as we are serious about our job and partnerships. We are treating people and families influenced by substance abuse with dignity and respect, as we don't agree with the public opinion including stigma and prejudice, as those only cause pain and obstacles on the path of recovery. We desire a stigma-free society towards substance abusers and their close ones, and we won't stop until we accomplish this.
With Whom Do We Work
Family members, friends and carers - In order to ensure those affected by another's substance use have a stake in the issue that affect them, we inform and empower them and also amplify their voices.
Frontline specialists - We wanted to ensure the support the experts are convey is compelling and suitable as we construct the confidence, limit and ability of experts.
Decision-makers - In order to shape policy and ensure they understand the families issues we work with everyday, we engage and influence key national and local decision-makers.
